Villalobos Rescue Center is a dynamic, scrappy, big-hearted rescue, rehabilitation, and placement facility for abused and abandoned Pit Bulls. The center works tirelessly to give Pit Bulls the love and treatment they deserve, and has done amazing things for breed awareness. The center benefits from an enthusiastic fan base, thanks to a popular show on network television, but with their outdated website and small nonprofit staff, connecting with their fans and supporters while still keeping the day-to-day operations of their shelter running smoothly was a huge challenge. A high percentage of their users relied on mobile connections to view the site, but their old site wasn’t mobile-optimized and was generally hard to navigate.

We worked with VRC to create an updated, mobile-friendly site to better serve the huge following it has amassed thanks to the TV show, and better harness the amazing fundraising and adoption possibilities that exposure provides.

The old adoption form was a PDF that had to be downloaded, completed, and emailed. We built a custom Gravity Form to help collect submissions and find forever homes more quickly.

With a big audience like theirs, only the best hosting will do, so we hooked them up with Pantheon and a CDN to ensure the site stays up and performative during the spikes in traffic that accompany show premieres and marathons.
